Hey there, my name is Jason Wilmot.
I am the Founder and Chief Growth Hacker here at Hacktics, consultant, coach and and lifelong educator.
I specialize in Lead Generation, eCommerce & SaaS Growth Hacking, but I am well-versed in all-things digital marketing.
My first love was local SEO, which grew into social media optimization and automation hacks.
From there, I learned how to run Facebook Ads with fancy, schmancy targeting and all - but I still didn't know my tracking and analytics.
Eventually, I leveled-up and began to utilize UTMs by building UTM generators - which scaled my ability to track data across campaigns.
I learned how to track down to the single split test; no matter the source, medium, campaign, device. I sent that into straight into Google Analytics and it soon became my new best friend.
In a continued pursuit to improve and grow, I learned how to run Google Ads: Search, Display, YouTube & Shopping (which came rather quickly thanks to my background in KEI Keyword Research & SEO).
In order to monitor the effectiveness of my Google Ads, I quickly learned that I would need to understand Google Tag Manager. At first, I only used it to deploy my conversion codes.
Nonetheless, I've come to apprecaite everything that can Google Tag Manager can offer. In turn, I have learned how to tag on-page Events and to use those Event to create hyper-segment audiences and behaviors. This small wins all to work toward improving revenue optimization, conversion rates or other KPIs.
Additionally, my knowledge in Google Ads made understanding Amazon Ads seamless and effective.
Twitter Ads? Yep. They’re terrific when coupled with targeted audiences and exclusion lists.
LinkedIn Ads? They have their place - but you'll want to install their LinkedIn Pixel first.
Email marketing? I’ve conducted cold email campaigns as I understand good copy and well-timed drip delivery.
Moreover, I also enjoy the nerdy side of DNS, warming up domains, spinning up landing pages,and deploying conversion code.
I’m also well-versed in email automation for eCommerce and warming up new subscribers.
My latest interest is Bots: both web-based and Messenger-based. I'm looking forward to utilizing them as much as possible with Hacktics.
As for my former life, I was an elementary school teacher - and even named a Distinguished Educator by Apple. I won $10,000 for my school from Code.org. I am a published author and kept up a blog for a decent amount of time while teaching.
I am a founding board member of The Bay. I hold Master's degrees in Educational Leadership and in Historical Studies, and a bachelor's degree in Education & Human Sciences. Yet, I'm keen enough to know that deeds and actions trump a resumé any day.
I make an effort to write about the things I care about. I believe in questioning everything (especially myself). I believe in beauty, humanity and sometimes even science ;) I believe that things are getting better and that good ideas, will ultimately win out.
